Prairie Cat Productions

Prairie Cat Productions is a Canadian Screen Award-nominated production company based in Regina, Saskatchewan. Our projects vary greatly in genre and scope, ranging from scripted films to documentaries and promotional videos. We love to focus on telling stories that celebrate life on the Canadian prairies and have worked with Telefilm Canada, CBC, the Accessibility Network, SK Arts, Canada Council for the Arts, SGI, the Regina Police Service, and more.

Lucas Frison founded Prairie Cat in 2016 and teamed with producer Élise Beaudry-Ferland to bring the company’s first feature film to life, Talent. Talent was one of 18 projects awarded funding through Telefilm Canada’s Talent to Watch program. Check out Talent today on iTunes, Google Play, Sony, Amazon and Hulu! Humboldt: The New Season is our 2019 documentary that followed the Humboldt Broncos the season after the tragic April 2018 accident. Nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Documentary Program, the film is available now on CBC Gem.

Our latest work includes Pen Pals, a short comedy that will premiere at the Ottawa Canadian Film Festival in November, and a documentary episode of Our Community for the Accessibility Network which will be broadcast in April 2024.
